It is our objective to grade all of our cards fairly and accurately.
The following is a summary of how we attempt to grade our cards based
on condition. Of course, grading is subjective, which is why we offer
a 100% return on all items.
We suggest you use similar guidelines when grading your own cards.
Mint (MT):
A mint card is perfect. It has original gloss, sharp corners, no print
marks or other flaws.
Near Mint (NM):
A near mint card can have one minor flaw, such as: a fuzzy corner, two
or more corners with slight touches of wear, print spots, slightly out
of focus, slight rough edges, or other minor imperfections. Original
gloss must be intact.
Excellent/Mint (XMT):
An XMT card can have up to 3 fuzzy corners, and up to 2 of the following:
print spots, slight border discoloration, slightly rough edges, slightly
out of focus, or any other minor imperfections. Original gloss must
be intact.
Excellent (EX):
An EX card can have 4 fuzzy corners, and also rough edges, print spots,
discolored borders, loss of gloss and other minor flaws.
Very Good (VG):
A VG card is one that shows signs of being handled, although not abused.
It can have border discoloration, loss of gloss, rounded corners, slight
creases, and other flaws.
Good (G)
A good card has seen better days. It can have many flaws, such as creases,
rounded corners, loss of gloss, stains, and other serious flaws.
Fair (F)- Poor (P):
Similar to good card, only with more severe damage.
Grading Definitons:
Corners:
Corner With A Touch
Of Wear:
Still sharp, but on close
examination shows a slight bit of wear. This is easier to notice on
a card with a colored border, where a spot of white will show on the
corner.
Fuzzy Corner:
Shows a slight bit of fraying, but still comes to a point.
Slightly Rounded
Corner:
The fraying is more severe, and the corner barely comes to a point.
Rounded Corner:
The corner is layered, so that no corner point is visible.
Centering:
Slightly Off Center:
This has one border wider than the other (55/45 To 65/35).
Off Center:
One border will be more than twice as wide as the other (70/30 Or More).
Miscut:
This card shows part of another card on its larger border.
Creases:
Light Crease:
One that is barely noticeable.
Medium Crease:
Noticeable at arms length, but does not detract from the overall appearance
of the card.
Heavy Crease:
One that has seriously broken the cards surface.
We try to grade our cards accurately and consistantly , but you, our customers,
are the final judge. We always stand behind our sales and will accept
returns for any reason, as long as the security seal (if applicable) is
intact.
We hope this grading page was of help to you. If there any other questions
about our grading policies or just questions in general, please don't
hesitate to email them to us. We'd like to hear from you.
